Jiaxi (Jessica) Wang

Graduate Student, Biomedical Sciences

Jiaxi (Jessica) Wang is originally from Beijing, China, and moved to the U.S. at the age of 13. She completed high school in Florida and went to UC Berkeley for undergrad where she majored in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis in Immunology. At UC Berkeley, Jessica worked in Dr. David Raulet’s lab studying NK cell regulation. After graduation, she spent two years working in Dr. Lawrence Fong’s cancer immunotherapy lab at UCSF. Now Jessica is a graduate student in the Biomedical Science program at UCSF. She joined the Gardner lab in 2020 and her graduate research aims to define the transcriptional and functional roles of Autoimmune Regulator (Aire) in extrathymic Aire-expressing cells, and its contribution to peripheral immune tolerance. In her free time, Jessica likes to explore the city, go on hikes, enjoy wine with friends, and destress with yoga and Zumba.
