Irina Proekt, PhD
Assistant Researcher
Irina Proekt is an Assistant Researcher at the lab. Her research interest is studying how defects in central T-cell tolerance contribute to organ-specific autoimmunity. Her current project focuses on mapping the cellular determinants and T cell specificities in a mouse model of adipose autoimmunity.
Irina did her graduate work with Anthony DeFranco at UCSF studying multigenic autoimmune susceptibility in a mouse models of uveitis. She did her postdoctoral work with Mark Anderson at UCSF investigating how thymic stromal cells orchestrate development and selection of self-reactive T cells.
