Haley Mendoza-Romero, PhD
Postdoctoral Fellow
Haley grew up in Los Angeles, California, and earned her B.S. in Neuroscience from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She went on to complete her Ph.D. in Molecular Physiology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Her research focuses on understanding the cellular landscape of the developing hypothalamus and how interactions among diverse cell types shape postnatal brain development. She is particularly interested in how nutritional changes influence these dynamic cellular interactions and their impact on neural circuits that control energy homeostasis.
Outside the lab, Haley enjoys exploring the Bay Area, attending concerts, and counting down the days until spooky season.
