Diana Alba, MD
Diana Alba is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology at the University of California San Francisco. She is also on the executive committee of the Endocrine Clinical and Translational Research Center.
Her research program seeks to identify transcriptional networks and cell types linked to the development of adipose tissue fibrosis and insulin resistance in the context of obesity across individuals with differing relationships between obesity and consequent diabetes. She spearheaded the creation of a first-of-its-kind multi-ethnic cohort to improve the landscape of obesity and reduce deleterious metabolic outcomes in individuals from highly vulnerable segments of the population.
Diana earned her medical degree at New York Medical College. She then went on to complete her Internal Medicine residency training at the University of Miami and her Endocrinology fellowship training at the University of California, San Francisco.
