Andrew Folick, MD, PhD

Andrew grew up in Southern California where he got his B.S. in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology at UCLA. He went on to complete his M.D. and Ph.D. in Developmental Biology at Baylor College of Medicine. His main research project is focused on understanding the role of lipoproteins in regulating the functional role of microglia in the hypothalamus in the pathogenesis of diet-induced obesity. He is also an endocrinologist, having completed his clinical training at UCSF, who sees patients at San Francisco General Hospital. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends and enjoys the indoor and outdoor splendor in San Francisco and Bay Area.
