Zhuldyz Zhanzak, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

Zhuldzy Zhanzak recieved her PhD in Immunology from Emory University, where she trained under Christian Larsen, a leading transplant surgeon and immunologist. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow in Mark Anderson’s lab at the UCSF Diabetes Center, where she studies the molecular mechanisms of antigen-specific T cell responses in autoimmunity. Over the past several years, she has developed expertise in murine disease models, flow cytometry, single-cell RNA and TCR sequencing, and translational immunology with patient samples. Her research interests center on the mechanisms of peripheral tolerance and how their breakdown contributes to disease onset in transplantation and autoimmunity.
