Parleen Pandher
Parleen holds an Honors Bachelor’s degree majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, minoring in Psychology and holds a Master’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George, Canada. During her Master’s thesis she studied the sympathetic regulation of thermogenesis, focussing on the role of pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) at the sympathetic ganglia that innervate brown adipose tissue.
Currently, Parleen is a PhD student in the Metabolic Biology program at the University of California, Berkeley. Parleen’s research interests lie in understanding neuronal signaling pathways in the brain and their alterations in response to physiological stressors.
