Alicja Bednarska
Graduate Student
Alicja holds a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Davis in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Metabolic Biology at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focuses on the leptin-melanocortin pathway and its role in the regulation of energy homeostasis. Specifically, she is investigating the impact a western diet, high in sugar and fat, has on the leptin-melanocortin pathway to uncover any changes in MC4R signaling that are contributing to diet induced obesity. Outside of the lab, Alicja spends her free time with her dog Blue, traveling to new places, and salsa dancing.
