Elliott Brooks, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

Elliott started his biology career as a tech in the Kimmel Lab at UO and then the Nichols Lab at CU Anschutz studying transcription factors in zebrafish craniofacial development. He earned his Cells, Stem Cells, and Development PhD in the Lab of Dr. Lori Sussel at CU Anschutz where he worked to characterize the molecular mechanisms of gene expression regulation by transcription factors in pancreatic islet cells. Now as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Sneddon Lab, Elliott will continue exploring transcription factor biology in the pancreas—using in vivo and stem cell techniques to illuminate molecular insights into islet development and diabetes.
