Mehdi Soleymani-Goloujeh, PhD
Mehdi Soleymani-Goloujeh, Ph.D. is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Parent and Tang labs at UCSF Diabetes Center. He obtained his Ph.D. in Applied Cell Sciences from the Royan Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Technology, Tehran, Iran. His research focused on immune system modulation and β-cell regeneration strategies based on clonal Mesenchymal stromal cells (cMSCs)-derived Extracellular vesicles (EVs).
He joined the laboratories of Dr. Qizhi Tang and Dr. Audrey Parent in July 2023. His current research is on human pluripotent stem cell-derived β-cells and immunomodulation in Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). His research interests include stem cell biology, cell therapy, regenerative medicine, diabetes, and immunology. He has published several papers in these fields and served as a reviewer for several scientific journals. He is committed to discovering novel T1D treatments by leveraging stem cells and immunomodulation.
