We had our annual Diabetes Academy, a special event which brings together our researchers, clinicians, supporter, and patients to explore groundbreaking diabetes research and treatments and hear new ideas from the next generation of leaders. Topics included autoimmunity, technology and precision medicine, diversity of diabetes across a lifespan, and the evolution of diabetes care and research in the safety net.
Featuring Diana Alba, Endocrinology; Mark Anderson, Director, Diabetes Center; Eda Cengiz, Professor, Endocrinology; Sarah Kim, Director, Diabetes Teaching Center; Suneil Koliwad, Chief of Endocrinology; Stephen Gitelman, Director, Pediatric Diabetes; Zoe Quandt, Endocrinology; Shylaja Srinivasan, Pediatric Endocrinology; and Amanda Twigg, Associate Professor, Department of Dermatology, speaks eloquently of her experience as the parent of a diabetic patient.
