Dean Schillinger Recognized for His Efforts to Prevent Type 2 Diabetes

SAN FRANCISCO (February 21, 2016) Diabetes Center faculty member Dean Schillinger, MD, is one of six Californians awarded this year’s James Irvine Leadership Award, for his clinical work focused on diabetes in vulnerable populations.
The Irvine Foundation Leadership Awards recognize California leaders who are advancing innovative and effective solutions to significant state issues. Dr. Schillinger, founder of the Center for Vulnerable Populations at San Francisco General Hospital/UCSF, is engaging youth to thwart the rise of Type 2 diabetes.
