Robert J. Rushakoff, M.D.

Endocrinologist

A Professor of Medicine at UCSF and a renowned expert in diabetes, Dr. Rushakoff  serves as the medical director of the UCSF/Mount Zion Diabetes Center and is the Medical Director for Inpatient Diabetes at UCSF.

In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Rushakoff is a member of the UCSF/Mount Zion Diabetes and Endocrinology Research Lab where he is investigating the use of the Internet to train physicians and other medical providers in diabetes management.  He has led efforts to fundamentally change the approach to managing hospitalized diabetes patients and this has led to improved glucose control and reduction in insulin errors. 

Dr. Rushakoff  is a sought after lecturer and was the recipient of the UCSF/Mount Zion "Golden Bagel Award" for being an outstanding teacher.  He is co-editor of the Diabetes Section for Endotext.com, a free internet based comprehensive endocrinology text.
