For Medical Professionals
Each year in March, Diabetes Center endocrinologist Dr. Umesh Masharani chairs a 2 ½ day Continuing Medical Education (CME) course in San Francisco: Diabetes Update and Advances in Endocrinology and Metabolism.
Our distinguished faculty in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism serve as presenters each year. Over 200 physicians and allied health professionals from across the country attend our sessions.
The Diabetes Update section focuses on new ideas and therapies relevant to patients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. Discussion will also include aspects of prevention of the disorders. Advances in Endocrinology and Metabolism on Friday and Saturday, will provide the clinician with updated, pragmatic information about the management of common endocrinologic and metabolic problems, as well as insight into important current areas in clinical research. Formal presentations will be accompanied by question and answer periods with general discussion. Clinical cases will focus on common endocrine problems encountered in clinical practice. This course is intended for general internists, family physicians, general practitioners, surgeons, nurses and other allied health professionals.
